"SODIUM HYALURONATE, or HYALURONIC ACID (HA), is a natural carbohydrate linear polysaccharide; that is found in almost all living organisms. Its chemical structure is consisting of multiple disaccharides which are N-acetylglu-cosamine and D-glucuronic acid, linked via alternating β-1,4 and β-1,3 glycosidic bonds.

HA, is a highly hydrophilic molecule, plays an important role in tissue hydrodynamics and contributes to the transport of water, it helps to maintain the hydration and elastoviscosity of tissues.The remarkable viscoelastic and water holding property of HA, besides its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-immunogenicity, has increased its appeal in numerous medical and cosmetic applications."
